Machu Picchu is located in an ancient Incan fortress in the Andes Mountains of Peru. it dates back to 1450 AD. Most cities built by the Inca civilization were destroyed by Spanish conquest, luckily, Machu Picchu was hidden, invisible from below and not found, making it one of the most well-preserved Incan cities. It is made up of more than 150 buildings ranging from baths and houses to temples and sanctuaries.

At present, the fortress can be accessed by use of trains or hiking the famous Incan trail. Machu Picchu has over 100 separate flights of stairs, most carved from one slab of stone.

Peruvian Amazon Jungle

This jungle shares the world’s largest tropical rainforest with Colombia and Brazil and is famed for its biodiversity. Thousands of rivers, including the Amazon, run through the jungle.

Nazca Lines

Design and pictographs where carved into the ground in the Nazca desert. It covers 50 miles and was supposedly created between 200 BC – 700 AD by Nazca Indians. It consists of 800 straight lines, 300 geometric figures, and 70 animal and plant designs.

Rainbow Mountain

The Ausangate Mountain of Peruvian Andes is striped with colors from turquoise to Lavender and maroon to gold. It is notoriously difficult to find and requires several days hiking. Environmental conditions and mineralogy is reason for the rainbow coloration.
