Located in Rio de Janiero, Brazil on the Corcovado mountain. Christ the Redeemer is a statue erected of Jesus Christ and designed by Heiter da Silva Costa. Construction began in 1926 and finished in 1931 costing around $250,000 to build, mostly raised through donations. Considered the largest art-deco sculpture in the world, the statue runs 130 feet tall taking over 200 steps to reach the statue. Visiting this wonder can be reached 3 ways: by tram, foot, or car. Annually, Christ the Redeemer receives over 2 million visitors.
