Located in Rio de Janiero, Brazil on the Corcovado mountain. Christ the Redeemer is a statue erected of Jesus Christ and designed by Heiter da Silva Costa. Construction began in 1926 and finished in 1931 costing around $250,000 to build, mostly raised through donations. Considered the largest art-deco sculpture in the world, the statue runs 130 feet tall taking over 200 steps to reach the statue. Visiting this wonder can be reached 3 ways: by tram, foot, or car. Annually, Christ the Redeemer receives over 2 million visitors.

Rio Carnival

Known to be the biggest carnival in the world. 10 million liters of beer is consumed every year during the event & more than 2 million people on the streets everyday of the carnival. Schools are judged on floats costumes dancing and music.

Escadaria Selaron

Known as the Selaron steps, this world famous artwork was done by Chilean-born artist Jorge Selaron as tribute to the Brazilian people. It consists of 125 meters of steps covered in bright tile and artwork.
